Just a quick heads-up — today we’re launching something called a Smoke Test, which is the first step in getting your surveys out to you!
💨 What’s a Smoke Test?
Kickstarter requires creators to send a test survey to 5% of backers across all pledge levels before rolling it out to everyone. It’s randomly selected, and it helps us catch any setup issues before we go full send. If you happen to be part of that 5%, you’ll see your survey hit your inbox today! 🎯
If you receive a survey, please complete it at your earliest convenience. Your response helps BackerKit and I confirm everything is working smoothly so we can release the full survey to all backers.
📦 Shipping Update:
The decks are expected to arrive the first week of January, and they will be shipped promptly after. Please take a moment to double‑check your address when filling out the survey so everything arrives safely.

I chose to send surveys closer to fulfillment to keep things streamlined and productive — less time between you submitting your info and me shipping your goodies = smoother process for everyone.

Hey Monster Fam!
Lots of exciting things are happening behind the scenes, and I wanted to keep you all in the loop as we move closer to getting your decks into your hands:
1. Production is about to begin!
We’re on track to kick off production as soon as Monday. At this pace, fulfillment is looking like it will happen at least 4 weeks earlier than scheduled—a huge win! To make it all work, I’ll be adjusting the box design slightly to fit the extra cards we’ve added (more on those below). I’ll be working on those updates through the weekend to keep us moving forward.
2. 11 Extra Cards Coming Your Way
The printer let me know we can add up to five more cards, so I’m taking advantage of that and sneaking in some bonus variations. These will include some art and subtitle options I’d been debating over, and I’m keeping the final picks a surprise for now.
That means in total, you’ll be getting:
The 5 poll-winning cards
The new Tower card
5 additional surprise variations
That’s 11 extra cards in total—because this deck deserves a little extra monster magic.
3. Kickstarter Edition Just Got More Exclusive
To make your edition even more special, we’re splitting the edging into two limited variants:
The Kickstarted Edition will feature the classic Mauve edging (attached above).
The rest will feature a Dark Mauve edging (attached below).
Kickstarter backers will get first dibs on the Dark Mauve edition at the Kickstarter rate when pledge surveys go out, so if you want to add one, you’ll have the opportunity before fulfillment begins.
4. Locking in the Best Price
For perspective: once the campaign closes, the MSRP for the Mental Monsters Tarot will be $69, which is $10–15 more than what you’re getting it for here on Kickstarter. Your pledge not only locks in the lowest price but also secures all of the Kickstarter-exclusive extras.
Everything is running smoothly, and I’m thrilled with how much the project has elevated since launch. Between the early fulfillment timeline, surprise extras, and these upgrades, this deck is shaping up to be something truly special.
